Mortality rate from 20 to 24 years, in mainland Portugal, decreased 45,3%, in the period 2001-2009 (from 88,9%ooo to 48,6%ooo).

In the period 2004-2009, in mainland Portugal, mortality rate in the age group 20-24 years decreased 24,4%, falling from 64,3%ooo to 48,6%ooo.
Regional values for this indicator also decreased, in particular in Regions Centro, Alentejo and Algarve, where rates decreased 39,3%, 41,0% and 37,2%, respectively.

In mainland Portugal, mortality rate for boys aged 20-24 years decreased from 97,6%ooo in 2004 to 68,3%ooo in 2009 (relative decrease: 30,0%).
For females of the same age group, rates were lower, but relative decrease was also less relevant (6,0%, corresponding to rates falling from 30,0%ooo in 2004 to 28,2%ooo in 2009).
