Mortality rate from 10 to 14 years, in mainland Portugal, decreased 51,7% between 2001 and 2009 (from 24,4%ooo to 11,8%ooo). In the period 2004-2009 this indicator registered values above target defined in National Health Plan to 2010.

Mortality rate in age group 10-14 years, in mainland Portugal, decreased from 17,8%ooo in 2004 to 11,8%ooo in 2009 (-33,7%). Interanual variability of regional values is high because of the small number of deaths per year and per Region in this age group.

Between 2004 and 2009, in mainland Portugal, mortality rate for boys aged 10-14 years decreased from 19,3%ooo to 13,1%ooo (relative decrease: 32,1%). For girls of the same age group, rate decreased from 16,3%ooo to 10,4%ooo (relative decrease: 36,0%).
