In Portugal life expectancy from 15 to 19 years has been increasing, getting closer to National Health Plan target to 2010 (65,0 years).
Between 2002-2004 and 2006-2008, life expectancy increased 1,2 years for boys and 1,0 years for girls.

Life expectancy at 15 years increased in all Regions, in the period analysed. In Norte and Lisboa Regions the increases were higher (1,3 years). In Algarve life expectancy increased only 0,8 years, in the same period.

The increase of life expectancy for boys 15 years old varied between 0,5 years in Algarve and 1,5 years in Lisboa Region.
For girls, raises were between 0,8 years (Algarve and Alentejo) and 1,3 years (Norte).
