From the 2002/2003 school year to that of 2006/2007, the rate of coverage regarding health monitoring in 6-year-old pupils increased by 4,2%, from 71% to 74%.

During the 2006/2007 school year, Centro and Alentejo showed a positive variance in relation to the overall value for mainland Portugal, displaying a health monitoring coverage of 86% and 77% , respectively, for 6-year-old pupils. The other regions (LVT and Algarve) showed lower values (the lowest being 39% in the Algarve).
