Age-standardized relative survival at 5 years of men of 15 or more years of age, with colon and rectum cancer diagnosed between 1991 and 1993, was 46,3%. This value resulted from the analysis of 693 cases (coverage: 11%).
The information relating to 2005 refers only to Regional Cancer Registry ‘Sul’ (ROR-Sul), as information for other Regions of Portugal is unavailable. The analysis for this region revealed a relative survival at 5 years of 53%, referring to 1790 men with 15 or more years of age, that were diagnosed with colon cancer in 2000 or 2001. Regarding rectum cancer, the analysis of 1158 cases (same geographical area and the same incidence period) revealed a relative survival at 5 years of 54%.
