Standardized death rate for AIDS before 65 years, in Portugal, decreased 22,9% from 8,8 in 2004 to 6,8 in 2008. The most recent value is below National Health Plan target to 2010 (7,0 deaths per 100 000 population).

There’s large interregional variability of standardized death rates for AIDS before 65 years. The value of this indicator in Lisboa (13,1%ooo, in 2008) was far above other regional values that, in the same year, varied between 2,1 and 7,9 deaths per 100 000 population.
Relative decreases from 2004 to 2008 were more relevant in Centro (31,1%) and Lisboa (28,2%).

Standardized death rate for AIDS before 65 years, in Portugal, showed relative decreases of 26,2% for males and 9,4% for females, between 2004 and 2008.
