In Portugal, the number of Public health doctors per 100,000 inhabitants showed a small increase of 4,7%, between 2002 and 2008.

In the period 2004-2008, the number of Public Health doctors in the Regions of Portugal showed little variation. The ratio Public Health doctors/inhabitant was higher in Algarve, all over the period.

The relative variation of the number of Public Health doctors per inhabitant, between 2004 and 2008, was of little relevance, both for male and for female professionals.
Algarve and Lisboa remained the Regions with higher number of male and female Public Health Doctors per inhabitant, respectively.
