In mainland Portugal, the average number of appointments with Family Doctors per inhabitant showed small variation, between 2002 and 2007. Despite of a slight increase, to an average of 2,8 appointments per inhabitant in 2007, this indicator is still below the 2010 target.

All Regions showed positive trends, between 2004 and 2007. The average number of appointments with Family Doctors per inhabitant was higher in Centro and Alentejo Regions.

On average, women have more appointments with Family Doctors per year than men.
During the period 2004-2007, this indicator exhibited only small variations, both for women and men.
