Intra-hospital lethality from IHD (Ischemic Heart Disease) has been generally decreasing (with a reduction of 28,4% from 2003 to 2007). This reduction was more evident in males (30,2%) than in females (22,8%)

From 2004 to 2007, intra-hospital lethality from IHD, in mainland Portugal, decreased slightly (relative variance: -28,4%), from 6,7% to 4,8%. This trend towards reduction was verified in all regions.

From 2004 to 2007, a reduction was registered in intra-hospital lethality from IHD in both genders, being more pronounced for females during both periods. This inequality was most evident in Alentejo and Centro (with ratios of 1,1).
