In both of the NHI under study, the percentage of males in the 65-74 age group who professed to having consumed alcohol in the last 12 months was far higher than that of females. However, this difference was reduced between the 3rd and the 4th NHI.

The percentage of people in the 65-74 age group who consumed alcoholic beverages in the last 12 months increased in both genders (by 3,9% in males and 12,9% in females). However, males maintain far higher values than females.
