In 1998/99, a  difference was registered between the percentage of obese males (BMI ≥ 30) and that of females, the latter being superior. In 2005/2006, this discrepancy between genders increase, as a consequence of a greater increase in the number of male cases relative to female cases (35,8% and 21,5%, respectively).go to top

In 2005/2006, the highest value was registered in LVT, both for males and females (20,6% and 27,1 respectively). The lowest was in Centro for males (15,9%) and in Algarve (16,8) for females.
