In 1998/99, a large difference was registered between the percentage of obese males (BMI ≥ 30) and  females, the latter being superior. In 2005/2006, was a reverse of this situation, with the value of obese males being slightly superior, 12,8% for males and 12,7 for females).

Region

In 2005/2006, the region with less percentage of obese was LVT (10,4) for males and Centro for females. On the other hand, the region with highest values was Centro (14,5) for males, and Alentejo (18,0) for females.
