The mortality rate for the 25-44 age group in Portugal decreased by 19,4% between 2004 and 2008. Between 2004 and 2008, a greater reduction was registered in males (22,1%) than in females (12,4%).

From 2004 to 2008, the mortality rate for the 25-44 age group in mainland Portugal decreased by 19,3%, from 139,0%ooo to 112,1%ooo. The Centro Region was the one that registered the best values in 2004 and in 2008(127,1%ooo and 102,2%ooo, respectively).

The mortality rate for the 25-44 age group, registered in mainland Portugal, decreased from 2004 to 2008 for both males and females.
For males, the highest values were found in the Algarve in both 2004 and 2008 the same being true for females in 2004, in 2008 the highest value for females was registered in Alentejo. In 2008, the lowest values were registered in Centro for males and Norte for females.
